I recently developed the front-end for minicab hire firm minicabit.com, with design and IA produced by Weaver Digital.

James has worked with Weaver on a number of web development projects, and his work has always been superb, in both quality and speed. Communication is also a forte of James – he is always quick to respond to questions and requests, and does so in a clear and effective manner. We look forward to continuing our association with James far into the future.

I’ve had the pleasure and privilege of building a new website for 30 Hertz Records, home of musician and geezer Mr. Jah Wobble. I designed the site, coded HTML and CSS, and built a fully-functioning WordPress CMS so the 30 Hertz team can easily add news, tour dates and releases, and John can update his soon-to-be-legendary blog.

The chaps at Teacake Design have recently completed branding and website design for Lancashire-based bespoke tailors Charles Campbell. They passed the design onto me to build – it’s a full WordPress-driven site with AJAX loading and a blog. We even got a nice write up in The Drum magazine.

Abode Residental are Salford-based estate agents. Their website was re-designed by The Direction, and I picked up the HTML/CSS templating and WordPress build, including a custom property availability filter built in PHP. The site uses Custom Posts Types and the Custom Field Template plugin so the client can easily add new properties when they become available.

James was a pleasure to work with. He understood our requirements straight away, was able to translate designs into a working website accurately and very quickly. His communication with us was excellent. James comes highly recommended.

Over Summer 2010 I worked with Weaver Digital on a new website for venture capitalists DFJ Esprit. After Weaver completed the design and IA, I picked up the HTML and CSS templating, and integrated the site into WordPress. The client wanted a robust CMS that made it really easy for them to update their website. By using WordPress’s Custom Post Types and the excellent WPAlchemy plugin, I was able to create very simple user interfaces for pages with a number of fields, such as Team Profiles.

I developed the HTML and CSS for the website of 40 Bruton Street, a new office and retail development based in Mayfair, London. I worked closely with Rik of Lomalogue, so that afterwards he could easily pick up the JavaScript work and content entry.

The great thing about working with James is that I know that I can give him any work and he'll do it without any problems. It's always on time and to the highest technical standards. He's very professional and cares about the work that he's doing which is why I would recommend him to anyone who needs a top-level front-end developer.

I was lead front-end developer for the Cheshire Constabulary website while at Reading Room Manchester, templating the site with HTML and CSS from Photoshop designs, importing the templates into Immediacy, and supporting developers during build. Being a public sector website, accessibility and usablity were considered very closely. Cross-browser compatibility was also very important to the client, with full Internet Explorer 6 support required.

I was given the task of overhauling the website for Netherlands-based online music magazine Incendiary. The editors wanted to make sure the new website focused on making it easier for users to find their way around the vast amount of articles, so I replaced their antiquated system with a clean design that brought the content to the fore. The latest highlights are quickly available from the homepage spotlights, recent articles are linked to from an index page, and when users are reading a piece they can easily explore related articles from the sidebar. The templates were then integrated into Drupal by the magazine’s developers.
